The Regulatory Affairs Specialist assists to assure the compliance of all local and imported products with the regulations applied in his/her country for the current and new products. He/She follows up with local authorities and delivers necessary documentation when needed.

A day in the life of…
• Handles the full registration process and label approval for Dairy, Confectionary, Culinary, Pet food, Cereals and other categories where requested, follow up with internal & external stakeholders for all necessary documentation of this registration.
• Follows up with the business partners & marketing for any new developed product to check the compliance with local regulations in terms of label declaration, ingredients approval, colorant, food additives and shelf life, and advise in case for any needed changes. Follows up with authorities for new developed product, to ensure compliance before dispatching product to the country
• Participates in updating and creation of the product briefs.
• Develop and maintain a solid knowledge of local regulations in all topics related to Nestle products
• Understands country specific regulatory trends and shape the regulatory environment by Influencing new regulation
• Technical Translation Arabic /English for urgent request
• Speeding the launch of innovative products with claims on Nutrition, Health and Wellness including registration in Saudi market & meetings with the authorities, customize the regulatory dossier
• Support Supply Chain Department in clearing shipments having Regulatory issues with the authorities, and provide technical support
• Protect and help NME against challenges by Enforcement (Port Health Authorities, Food Control Authorities, Customs, and Chamber of commerce etc.) and competitors
• Attends important meetings related to the regulations after the approval of the direct manager
• Establish strong relationships with related authorities
• Early warning: probe for any trend or regulation in the pipeline that may affect the Company’s products or processes
• Provide Regulatory Support for the local co-packer/ factory activities that requires meeting with the authorities or providing regulatory information or support
Regulatory Affairs Officer Required
What will make you successful
- Bachelor of Science in Food Technology, Nutrition or any related Field
- Minimum 1 year experience in regulatory related activities, previous experience in regulatory or governmental relations is a plus
- Must speak, read and write in both English and Arabic
- Developed communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Strong ability to work both independently and within a team
- Capable of taking initiative
- High level of personal integrity
- Demonstrated leading and influencing skills in a previous job
