- Chair Side Duties:
• Provides chair side assistance to the dentist in the examination & treatment of Pedodontics, Endodontics, Prosthetics, Oral Surgery, & other dental procedures.
• Seats patients immediately, reviews Health History, takes x-rays with good visibility and contrast, expected to have dental set-up ready when dentist enters room, performs special treatment procedures, organizes and has operatory stocked with needed dental instruments & materials.
(50%) - Sterilization and Disinfection:
• Sterilizes all dental instruments, handpieces, and counter-tops, & operatory’s.
• Cares for Dental Equipment according to manufactures directions.
• Follows guidelines of hospital policy for infection control.
(20%) - Scheduling and Office Tasks
• Schedules patients for re-visit appointments.
• Maintains patient records and indicates the type of work done.
• Reviews patient record to determine the instruments needed by the Dentist.
(10%) - Promotes positive interpersonal (customer) relationships with fellow employees, physicians, patients and visitors. Treats these individuals with courtesy, dignity, empathy and respect; consistently displays courteous and respectful verbal and non-verbal communications. (10%)
- Ensures confidentiality of patient information by creating and maintaining a secure and trusting environment by not sharing information learned on the job, except when necessary in the performance of the job responsibilities or to improve a patient’s care. (10%)
